Peter Driessel has been actively involved in many aspects of the diving industry since 1985 and is currently employed as a Regional Manager for the
Professional association of Diving instructors (PADI), his territory covering Africa and The Middle East. He has gained extensive experience in international sales, marketing and business development and through his travels has managed to see the diving industry from varied viewpoints and in different economic climates. He has enjoyed several successful careers as; a PADI Instructor and Course Director, dive store owner, resort manager, developer of business support seminars and has worked numerous countries.
Peter has been with PADI since 1996, he has personally visited and consulted with over 617 retail dive operations and resorts in Africa, Southern Indian Ocean Islands, Eastern Europe, the Middle East, the United Kingdom and Ireland. He has authored numerous professional business articles and newsletters on dive business, customer acquisition and retention and presented numerous professional development seminars, also assisting in Risk Management Seminars, Course Director, IDC Staff Instructor and EFR Instructor Cross Over programmes. Peter has also negotiated, at government level, various diving related issues with the Seychelles, South African, Polish and Czech Republic Governments Peter was also chairman of, the Association of Professional Divers Seychelles, as well as SUBIOS the Indian Ocean underwater film and image festival and photographic competition held in the Seychelles.
In addition to this he has also had numerous photographs published in a variety of diver and non diver magazines (National Geographic Channel, Tauchen, Diver, Dive Magazine, UK Sports Diver, Divestyle, PADI UnderSea Journal, PADI Member News, Diving the Worlds Coral Reefs, PADI Rescue Diver Manual, PADI Enriched Air Diver Manual, The Star, UK Men’s Health, Out There Magazine, Out There, Playboy, Ultimate Dive Destinations to name a few) as well as several PADI posters, brochures and web based literature.
